Proof that musical talent doesn't fall far from the Nelson family tree. Raelyn Nelson, Willie Nelson's granddaughter has started her own musical journey with the Raelyn Nelson Band. With the goal of making a name for herself, Raelyn has stepped out of her famous grandpa's shadow and sought out to create her own sound. The hybrid some critics call Country/ Garage Rock is a combination of Loretta Lynn meets Joan Jett.
"I don't really have any desire to be a 'solo-artist'. Everyone in my family who plays music has always placed a lot of importance on band chemistry, on stage, off stage, and in the studio. Our band can almost reach each other's minds. Why would I mess with that? We try to keep it simple: Write songs we like, record them, make a video, then go out and play them for people. Raelyn Nelson Band Headlines Show At The Veranda Live Thornton Park
On Friday, May 4th the Raelyn Nelson Band will be headlining the Nashville South Lo-Fi Music Showcase No. 5 show at The Veranda LIVE at Thornton Park. The newest live music venue in the Downtown Orlando district of Thornton Park is the beginning of a new music initiative started by the Modern Music Movement and the Veranda Live providing FREE concerts every Thursday and Saturday as part of their Spring Concert Series.
The line-up for the show on Friday with comprise of a Lo-Fi mix of sound with the amazing Whyte Tygers, Crenshaw, Stephen Rock, Beemo and The Raelyn Nelson Band Closing it up. Cover at the door is just $5 which is a steal considering the vast line up of talent visiting Orlando this Friday. For all the old souls out there who aren't yet old enough to drink, you'll have to sit this one out. 21+ Only.
