Central Florida has been known for years as the theme park capital of the world and now other areas of the city are expanding the attractions they offer. Nona Adventure Park officially opened this weekend, with a Grand Opening Event on Saturday.
This family-themed water park is the perfect place to spend the day in one of the most rapidly growing place in the Orlando area. Some of the top features at the facility include the Aqua Park, Climbing Tower, and Cable Park.
Lake Nona Attraction Continues Growth In New Orlando Area Community
The Aqua Park is a floating adventure with over 1000' of endless fun. There are obstacles to tackle, including two Mt. Rainiers, the Whirpool, Ninja Jump, and Tire Run.
Two identical courses throughout the Aqua Park make it the perfect way to challenge friends to a race. There are multiple reentry points on the trail too, so you can always get right back on track if you fall off the pace a bit!
For those who are looking to scale great heights and participate in an activity out of the water, the Climbing Tower is the perfect fit. The ropes course allows you to soar 60 feet in the air and there are also two 50-foot walls to climb.
Much like the Aqua Park, the Climbing Tower also presents some fun challenges like wobble bridge, tilting boards, caterpillar and jungle trail. There is also a kids course that is perfect for little ones ages 3-8.
The Nona Adventure Park's final main feature is the Cable Park, which accommodates wakeboarders of all levels. There are two tracks on their cable system and ten riders can run at one time.
One track is a two-tower system that is designed for beginners and intermediate riders while their other track is built for advanced riders. That track features all the latest wake boarding innovations, 2,500 feet of cable and reaches speeds of 36 miles per hour.
In addition to the attractions, there is a pro shop that showcases Ronix gear and other top watersports equipment and apparel. Splashes Bistro & Snack Bar makes it easy to turn a trip to Nona Adventure Park into an all-day activity with a great menu and beer or wine options.
