For those of us who like to keep it real, there's Real Radio 104.1. This "We Say What We Want" station is a hybrid mix of talk radio & alternative rock, and if you're a listener, you're sure to know the News Junkie. The show runs Monday through Friday from 11AM to 3PM and covers viral current affairs. News Junkie usually airs from a studio space but sometimes Shawn, Sabrina, and C-Lane are known to broadcast remotely. This Friday the show will air from Ace Cafe at their Muscle, Chrome and Rock & Roll Festival.
Real Radio 104.1 News Junkie Broadcasts Live at Ace Cafe
What makes the News Junkie show great, is that it is informative without being boring. No monotone talking head droning on about politics, but a mix of three dynamic personalities covering the most interesting happenings of today. The show started with Shawn Wasson back in the early 2000's before it moved to Chicago at WGN, one of the biggest radio stations in the country. After success (and some controversy) the show moved to its current home of WTKS-FM, Real Radio 104.1. Since then, the News Junkie has grown to be incredibly popular in Orlando and has listeners tune in from all over the world.
Fans of the show (or just fans of rock music, vintage cars, rare guitars, and/or great drink specials) are invited out to hang with the News Junkie crew this Friday, November 3rd from 11AM-3PM. "We'll be mixing it up with a live crowd," says show host Shawn Wasson, "giving out prizes and drinking our way into the weekend." The News Junkie broadcast will kick off the three-day festival known as Muscle, Chrome and Rock & Roll. General Admission tickets to this music & more festival are just $5, but we suggest springing for the $50 3-day VIP tickets. VIP tickets include swag bags valued at $100, drink and food specials, prizes, and a brunch buffet.
