The 12th Annual Orlando Walk for Wishes returns to Lake Eola Park Thursday, March 28th from 5 PM to 8:30 PM.
Join the nationwide movement to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This amazing non-profit organization makes dreams come true for children battling life-threatening medical conditions, and the 12th Annual Orlando Walk for Wishes is their signature fundraiser. Through this and countless other efforts, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted thousands of wishes.
Make A Wish Foundation Signature Fundraiser Returns To Lake Eola Park In Downtown Orlando
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is an amazing organization powered by volunteers, donors, sponsors, and friends. Participation in the Orlando Walk for Wishes will help the organization grant close to 300 more wishes this year. The average cost per wish is $8,000, but the impact on a child's life is priceless. Granted wishes give sick kids the opportunity to be a kid. During their wish, they escape the hospital and their treatments to experience joy, love, and hope.
Make-A-Wish started with one wish in the 1980s. Chris, a seven-year-old boy with leukemia, wanted more than anything to be a crime-fighting police officer. A group of DPS officers came together to made it happen. Little did they know they were creating the foundation of a life-changing organization.
Now you have the chance to contribute to the cause and help raise funds for future wishes of children in the Central Florida community. Currently, the Orlando charity walk has almost $250,000 pledged, which is half of the walk's goal of $500,000. If you want to help the Orlando Make-A-Wish walk meet its goal sign up to be a team leader, wrangle some friends, and show up to walk Lake Eola on the evening of March 28th.
