The Orlando Science Center has extended hours for summer fun on Friday and Saturday nights. Science After Sundown offers the perfect opportunity for an evening of exploration and learning.
Through August 10, the center remains open until 11 p.m. on those evenings, which makes them a perfect post-dinner stop for families and date-nighters alike. All four-floors of exhibits will be available during these late hours and adult beverages are available for purchase.
One of the highlights of Science After Sundown is the night sky views from the center's observatory. The laser light show in the Dr. Phllips CineDome is also a can't miss activity.
Nemours Children's Health System is currently offering a traveling exhibit at the center where you can learn to fight crime and work together in a team setting alongside the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. There are also several workshops that allow people to practice new skills or create a unique memento in The Hive: A Makerspace.
The schedule of those workshops includes Block Printing (July 12, 13), Sashiko Embroidery (July 19, 20), Upcycled Self-Watering Planter (July 26, 27), Test Tube Propagation System (August 2, 3) and DIY Bitters (August 9, 10).
There is limited seating for the workshops and overall ticket sales for the center stop at 10 p.m.
Admission for Science after Sundown at the Orlando Science Center is free for members, $21 for adults, $19 for seniors and students and $15 for kids 3-11. There is also a special entrance rate of $3 for up to six people for those who have an Access Florida EBT card.
