If you’re a fan of adult contemporary, jazz, new age or world music, and are avid listeners of radio stations that play those genres of music, then there’s a very good chance that you have heard both Nelson Rangell and Steve Oliver. Denver-based Rangell comes from a family of many talented musicians. Rangell first played flute at the age of 15 and after graduating from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, his musical armory quickly encompassed the piccolo, alto, tenor and soprano saxophone. He has recorded with the Rippingtons, Chuck Loeb, Patti Austin, Tom Browne and is featured on The Hang, an album by Don Grusin that was nominated for a Grammy Award. His discography now includes 17 CD releases and his two more recent unique albums titled “Red” and “Blue” have helped recognize him as an incredible virtuoso and one of the most exciting and diverse performers in the genre. Oliver, the jazz guitar phenomenon, has to his career credits: 11 albums, eight top 30 singles; named “Debut Artist of 2000”; and was nominated International Artist of the Year in 2006. More recently, Steve’s new release in 2018 of Illuminate, the much-anticipated 11th career album from multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer, continues to shine a light upon Steve's highly successful career -- one that has produced multiple #1 hits on the Billboard charts and countless radio staples over nearly two decades.
