The City of Maitland kicks off the fun with a football-themed Getdown Downtown block party with live music, food, games and a family fun zone from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, on Independence Lane in front of City Hall.

The City of Maitland kicks off the fun with a football-themed Getdown Downtown block party with live music, food, games and a family fun zone from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, on Independence Lane in front of City Hall.
Orlando area band The Current will perform on stage starting at 6 p.m. Enjoy food trucks, downtown Maitland restaurants and beer from Sanford Brewing Co. A family fun zone will include sports activities, a kids slide and an inflatable axe throwing simulator. Watch sports bloopers on a big video screen and browse local vendors. Wear your favorite team colors.
Admission is free. Parking is available in the lower levels of the parking garage at Maitland City Centre. Enter and exit the garage from Orlando Avenue.
Other parking is south of Independence Lane across Packwood Avenue and north of Independence Lane across Horatio Avenue.
