Join us for the second annual Friends of Wekiva River campout packed with activities on Friday, March 9 through Sunday March 11 at Wekiva Springs State Park. This is a rare chance to stay in the cosy park cabins, but if camping isn’t for you, you can join just the activities during the day. FOWR experts will lead a guided bird walk, canoe trip, night hike, gopher tortoise exploration walk, owl spotting hike and tram ride to view sinkholes. You’ll learn about geocaching and which plants you can eat for survival. Develop photography skills using a smartphone or SLR camera and participate in our digital photo contest. You can even try painting with acrylics in the Wekiva landscape. In the evenings enjoy campfires and a debut showing of the new film “Hidden Secrets of Florida Springs.”
Cost: $95 -$120 per person for cabin accommodations, all activities and all meals. Most cabins hold four people and some have ensuite bathrooms so call early to get the cabin arrangement of your choice. Day cost for activities only: $70-$85 including meals. Registration is required by March 1. For more details, visit www. FriendsofWekiva.org For information, email FriendsWekivaRiver@gmail.com or call 407-788-2619.
