Description
The City of Winter Park is proud to present its inaugural “Snow in the Park,” a brand new “cool” family-friendly event in Central Park West Meadow.
Event Details
The event will be held Friday, December 14, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, December 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Central Park West Meadow located at the corner of Morse Boulevard and New York Avenue. Although the West Meadow won’t be freezing over with ice at a holiday skating rink this year, the city will be hosting “Snow in the Park,” a brand new “cool” event for all to enjoy!
This two-day holiday celebration will be ice-packed with fun for children of all ages. Everyone at “Snow in the Park” will experience a winter chill as they grab an inner tube and slide down real ice slides into real snow!
Families can take photos with Santa or selfies with a red-nosed reindeer and very frosty snowman. Tinker in the toy maker’s workshop alongside busy elves to create holiday trinkets and crafts. Children can also wear some holiday cheer with fun, glittery airbrush tattoos.
Of course, a winter wonderland would not be complete without snow flurries! So while you’re playing in the “Florida” snowfall and listening to traveling carolers singing holiday classics, you can also compete in the build-a-snowman contest or hop on the festive toy train ride. But the train is not the only vehicle there, you can also explore the Healthy Central Florida Friendship 1 fire engine “mobile playground.”
As if all of this wasn’t enough, even your taste buds will be jumping for joy as the city’s very own Winter Park Fire-Rescue Department firefighters will be roasting marshmallows for your s’mores. Then make sure to stop by the hot cocoa bar where you can wet your holiday whistle and create your own special flavor in a cup of yummy hot chocolate.
