Each summer over 400 children and teens ages 4 to 17 immerse themselves in fun and creativity on the Crealdé lakeside Winter Park campus. Since 1982, students have been learning from a team of professional artists in working studios and explore the grounds, galleries, and Contemporary Sculpture Garden for inspiration. Participants select from one and two week camps are placed in small, age-based groups for maximized personal instruction. Depending on the age group, mediums include ceramics, sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, film-based photography, and a “mystery” media. Teens have the opportunity to concentrate on one medium, including wheel throwing, traditional film-based or digital photography. At the end of the summer, each young artist will have one finished piece of art, as well as collaborative works, professionally curated in a gallery exhibition in the Crealdé Showalter Hughes Community Gallery, curated by Crealdé’s Summer ArtCamp Faculty and sponsored by Orlando Utilities Commission. Curated by Belinda Glennon.
