Orlando's Universal Studios has announced plans to build a new Harry Potter-themed section called Diagon Alley inside the theme park according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
Based on the London shopping district visited by many of the Harry Potter series characters, Diagon Alley is expected to open sometime in 2014 and will compliment Universal's first Harry Potter attraction, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter which opened at Universal's Islands of Adventure back in 2010.
Universal has been pretty quiet on the details regarding this new attraction, but revealed that it will have shops, a restaurant and a ride located inside a building modeled after Gringotts Wizarding Bank. Universal Studios closed their longstanding Jaws attraction in early 2012 to make room for a new attraction, now revealed to be Diagon Alley.
Once the new attraction opens, Universal Orlando Resort will be a mecca for Harry Potter fans where diehards can shuttle between The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure and Diagon Alley at Universal Studios for the ultimate fan experience.
We'll keep you posted as more news arises regarding the new Diagon Alley Harry Potter attraction at Universal Studios.
