Local Talent Takes Center Stage During Florida Music Fest In Orlando

Florida Music Festival (FMF for short) has grown into one of the most happening national music festivals to showcase new local talent, as well as a few national headliners. In 2002, the guys who brought you aXis Magazine got together to put on a concert that would incorporate local artists, bands, and their music to be showcased in Orlando.

Since then, it has grown to become a 3-day festival and conference that has highlighted over 2,500 previously unsigned music acts and bands such as Taylor Swift (2003) and Flyleaf (2004). FMF is an entirely diverse music festival. From ROCK to Country, Bluegrass, and even Retro Jazz Funk; you'll get an earful of what Orlando has to offer.

This year's FMF is set to deliver once again. Plan on 3 days of some of the most awesome sounds from both unknown, and well-known acts as well as conferences and industry parties giving you access to industry experts on all levels, from record labels to publishing and more. From Thursday to Sunday, downtown O-town will be filled with various music acts throughout several venues, like Wall Street Plaza, The Social, Tanqueray's Bar and Grille, Ferg's Depot | Orlando Magnolia Orlando and Cheyenne Saloon.

Most venues do require you to be 21 and up, so check ahead to see what the age requirement is for the venue you'll need to venture to in pursuit of your favorite band. Although there are fees for the conference side of FMF the Florida Music Festival itself is still a FREE event open to the public, so long as the venue does not hit capacity.
