Downtown Orlando's favorite hair stylists, from Trend Studios Orlando, are celebrating their 6-year anniversary on Sunday, April 15th, from 1PM-5PM. Trend Studios is known for their never-DULL, always FUN, events/parties. This year’s party is NOT just another anniversary celebration because co-owner, Anthony Cortes, is launching his “Man of the Year Campaign” on the same night!
What is the Man of the Year Campaign?
Each year contestants (Male and Female) participate in a 10-week fundraising competition to collect the most charitable donations that benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). The proceeds are donated to fund research to find a cure for ALL forms of blood cancers. Winners with the most donations raised is awarded the title of “Man/Woman of the Year.” Anthony will be collecting cash donations at the door. Although there is no costs to attend, it is suggested that $20 be donated to Anthony’s “Man of the Year Campaign.” Also, there will be raffle prizes with 100% of the proceeds going towards blood cancer research.
Each Man and Woman of the Year candidates run alongside with a single Boy and Girl of the Year who have KICKED CANCER’S A$$. Meet our Boy of the Year: GRAYSON!
On February 14, 2015, Grayson discovered a lump on his neck, he was diagnosed with Stage 2A Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After several rounds of chemo followed by radiation, Grayson went into remission. After 10 months in remission, in July of 2016 Grayson received the news that his cancer had returned and progressed to Stage 3. After many more rounds of chemo Grayson received a stem cell transplant on February 9, 2017. Grayson completed his final radiation treatment on May 22, 2017 and is finally cancer free!
