Full Sail is adding to their legacy as one of Central Florida's top creators of opportunities in the sports and technology fields. Last week, they announced plans to build a state of the art esports arena.
At 11,200 square feet, the arena will be the largest of its kind on any college or university campus in the country. The facility will support Full Sail's esports team, Armada, and serve as a useful home for other professional esports endeavors.
Full Sail University in Orlando already began construction this past June and they expect to finish the arena in early 2019. "The Fortress" will be able to host collegiate and professional gaming tournaments, live streaming events and other events.
The arena is slated to have the capacity to accommodate 100 esports athletes and over 500 spectators at one time. There will also be a separate practice area on campus for the Armada that also has the latest in gaming technology.
